Specifications - ability to delete sections

Specifications - ability to delete sections

Currently, to delete a specification section in Autodesk Build, users are required to delete the entire set it was a part of and reupload the specifications without the section. This process is both time-consuming and inefficient.

I propose adding a "delete" button within the "edit section details" menu. This will allow users to delete individual specification sections directly, eliminating the need for reuploading and saving time.

I completely agree, this feature would have saved me hours. I've had to re-upload an entire set just because I mislabeled a single section, which is frustrating and horribly inefficient. Having the ability to delete individual sections directly would make this process a much smoother and more enjoyable experience.

This is critical and should be a default setting, just like we are able to do with sheets. Version sets often contain hundreds of submittals and having to reupload because a single spec needs to be voided is inefficient.

I agree with everything mentioned above. There was a file name error on the files we received making it a duplicate spec section that was uploaded. The amount of time we are having to spend completely deleting and re-uploading is so unnecessary when all we need to do is delete one repeat section. There are also times when additional sheets are lumped in with the spec sections and ACC doesn't pick them up correctly because they don't look like a typical spec. We have to take time deleting these files out ahead of time since we can't delete anything once its in ACC Specs. This needs to be a feature ASAP.

Yes, please add a delete button.  It is very inconvenient that one does not exist.

This section is the super unfriendly user-Interface ever, it is impossible to find out how to do it , even if you want to delete the version set, it is also indirect

Thank you for sharing your idea, and thanks to the broader community for the engagement and support. Our Product team is reviewing this and will provide a status update here once we have more information.

Please add this feature! Very frustrating that you otherwise need to completely delete the entire project specs and start the process over for a simple mistake that I'm sure many people make by accident. I currently have the same issue where an addendum spec was posted but missed the original attachment pages that go with that spec section that was updated. So when I tried to re-upload the spec again under the same section with the additional pages, it allowed me to add it but changed the code for the original spec section so now I have two spec sections on my spec home page that I can't link together because it says the code already exist. This can be very confusing for someone that is trying to look up a spec with the same description but two versions with two different codes exist and no way to edit them or join them.

The delete button or an ability to mark a section or pages obsolete would be beneficial. Sometime mistakes happen before and after publishing or specifications become obsolete to a project. The inability to remove these items create a confusing and messy spec. It would help to be able to add pages to an existing version or upload and link new pages to a version. Also, the ability to change more than just the code and description of the spec after publishing. I have a duplicate table of contents I can neither get rid of nor add as a version to the existing Table of Contents.

Hi everyone - I'm the PM for the Specifications tool and I have received a lot of customer feedback on the need for this capability. Rest assured that it is a priority for the team and stay tuned for upcoming releases!

@coffeyj - Deletion of a spec section will be a nice addition, but I hope there will be the ability to keep track of what's been deleted and why. If a spec section gets deleted because of a change in the project scope, that would want to be tracked as such. In version X of the spec, Section XXXXX was present, but in version Y, that section was removed. Just deleting it without any tracking/history could get very scary.
