Review Visibility Role

Review Visibility Role

Many projects have roles such as Information Managers, Document Controllers and Project Leads who need visibility of all reviews for governance, reporting and oversight purposes, but do not need to participate in the review workflow.

Could Autodesk introduce a dedicated "Review Viewer" permission that allows nominated users to view all project reviews and associated comments without being added to each workflow or requiring Project Administrator rights?

Benefits:

  • Improves project oversight and reporting.
  • Reduces the need for elevated admin permissions.
  • Maintains governance and segregation of duties.
  • Allows key project roles to monitor review progress and bottlenecks more effectively.
  • Minimises administration associated with managing review distribution lists.

As an EM using Forma this would save me having to chase someone up to send me a list of all reviews and their current status as well as enabling me to be able to chase up overdue reviews without requiring other team members to provide the data.

On large infrastructure projects, there is often a need for governance and oversight of review activity without participating in individual workflows. A read-only permission would provide visibility to monitor progress, identify overdue reviews and support project governance without requiring Project Administrator rights or being added to every workflow. This would improve oversight while maintaining appropriate segregation of duties.

This is a fundamental requirement to manage large engineering projects.  As the engineering manager across multiple schemes, I needed my finger on the pulse of the design outputs.  Without this visibility you are blind to issues on the project delaying critical outputs.
