Model-Based Issue (Defect) Management
Intent
Enhance issue management by connecting defects created in 2D sheets directly to the corresponding 3D model elements, creating a single, model-centric workflow.
Idea
Enable users to create issues from sheets while automatically retaining associated model metadata and Element IDs. Each issue should be visible and reportable in both 2D and 3D views without requiring duplicate issues or manual linking. Project level, discipline, and location classifications should drive issue organization and reporting across both environments. Element IDs should remain attached to support downstream coordination, construction tracking, and as-built update processes.
Benefit
This would deliver true model-based issue management by eliminating disconnected workflows, reducing duplicate effort, improving traceability, and enabling more efficient coordination throughout the project lifecycle. The result is a single source of truth for issue tracking, model coordination, and construction status management.
