Similar to other tools, users would prefer to complete tasks from fewer clicks and within the same tool vs. using up time. Submittals and drawings works this way. Not sure why specifications tool can't do the same.
Yes! Yes! Yes! There should always be the opportunity to have a combined set of current construction documents.
I asked how to do this and the chat person told me they didn't understand how this would be of value!!!! If it's not of value then why the heck did they create the ability to export groups of drawings? Their competitor Procore has this functionality so they understood the value.
As an architect, the contractor is the author/administrator of the Autodesk tool the contractors use and we are a contributor. The architects download the most current set of specifications and drawings (when using Procore), upload to a Bluebeam studio session, tag one another on changes to make for an upcoming bulletin or coordination topics, mark them complete in Bluebeam, which means we've made the changes to the drawings and specs for a future issuance. When there is not the ability to efficiently download the most current specification, a person has to individually combine files from different issuances to get the most recent set. It is SUPER cumbersome when the documents are all already assembled and with a few click like in 'Sheets' it could be done. UGH! Until this functionality is available, I will advocate for Procore.
This is a huge missing feature. We want to be able to export everything out of ACC, handoff to project participants as a zip file, and then remove from the project. We are forced to supply source documents, which defeats the purpose of the versioning system. We now are forced to do the old fashioned way-manually add and remove PDF pages in Bluebeam. Which hurts adoption of ACC by users who have to leave the platform and do things inefficiently. We didn't know these couldn't be exported before importing for many projects, and now have little to show for the effort at the conclusion of projects.
Hi everyone, I'm the PM for the Specifications tool and I absolutely agree this is a must have and I am working on getting it into our roadmap plans. Thank you for the feedback!
Can we please add this feature? It would be great instead of having to click on each individual spec to download. It offers the check box on the specifications screen but why? The check box seems to serve no purpose at all.
@coffeyj also it would be very useful to have opportunity to publish specs log in one click the same way it works in Sheets tool. Log is already there why can't we export it? AutoSpecs do no provide his option also. Or am I missing something?
