The round elbow CID 61 will allow an "Automatic Nest Break If Oversize," That way rather than one "sheet' with all segments combined on that sheet, when it becomes to large to nest onto the default sheet size, the segments are automatically nested as the individual segments.   I would really like to see this automatic option become available on the CID 107 Oval elbow. I am currently writing a Script to set the item option to nest the oval segments as singular objects when the combination becomes to large for the default sheet size and it is not as easy as I thought it was going to be.   Title: Alternative Drop-Cutter Algorithm with Angular Clamping, Bridging, and Safe Pivot-on-Spot for 5-Axis Finishing with End Mills   Description: Currently, when using End Mills or Toroidal tools under a specific lead/lean angle relative to the surface normal on complex 3D surfaces, Autodesk PowerMill’s standard gouge checking algorithm often leads to erratic tool axis behavior. The system continuously micro-adjusts the tilt or forces excessive lifting to maintain perfect mathematical contact, which ruins machine dynamics and surface finish. We propose implementing an Alternative / Simplified 5-Axis Drive Algorithm designed specifically for practical mold/die machining, based on the following logic:     1. Vector-Driven Drop-Cutter Approach: The system should orient the tool according to the user-defined lead/lean angle relative to the surface normal at the target point, and then drop the tool along this specific vector until the FIRST point of contact occurs anywhere on the tool geometry (bottom, corner radius, or side).   2. Safe Material Remainder Concept: We understand that the center of the tool might "hover" over depressions, leaving unmachined material. In practical mold-making, this is acceptable, as remaining stock will be removed by subsequent rest-machining operations with smaller tools. Preventing gouges and maintaining smooth machine movement is the primary goal here.   3. Angular Clamping (Controlled Tilting Limits): If the initial drop causes a heel/rear-edge collision, the software should allow the user to specify a strict angular range (e.g., between 5° and 15°). The system can dynamically tilt the tool only within these specific boundaries to clear the heel.   4. Non-Plunging Linear Interpolation ("Bridging"): If a collision cannot be resolved within the defined angular limits, the algorithm must NOT force the tool to plunge into the cavity or stutter. Instead, it must bridge the gap by locking the tool axis orientation and moving in a straight linear interpolation line to the next valid point.   5. Safe Pivot-on-Spot & Temporary Bridge Part: When the tool reaches the next valid point where the rear-edge collision is no longer present, it needs to pivot/rotate back to its standard lead/lean orientation. To prevent the rear edge of the cutter from plunging into the stock left under the bridge during this rotation, the software must treat the bridge line as a temporary part geometry. The tool must perform a controlled pivot-on-spot, ensuring that neither the bottom nor the rear edge violates this temporary "bridge" boundary.     Benefit: This alternative algorithm would provide an incredibly smooth, fluid 5-axis toolpath for flat and toroidal cutters on wavy, complex surfaces. It eliminates frantic tool axis oscillations, protects the machine's CNC drives, extends tool life, and delivers a predictable surface finish, leaving cleanly defined rest-material for subsequent operations. Make it possible to either automatically export a DXF file of the nested table after processing or use the Nest DXF Export feature in Scripting. Howdy everyone. I found and fixed a bug in MEP Content Editor Sync that required I run the tool as administrator in order to view available configurations. This isn't much of a problem for me as I have an admin account, but no one else on my team does.   After a little snooping in the logs I discovered that the problem is an effect of the following:   %ProgramFiles%\Autodesk\MEP Content Editor Sync\resources\app\main.js calls reg.exe to get MachineGuid from HKLM:\\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography The IT Security team at my org has disabled registry editing by non-admin users; Any calls to reg.exe are guaranteed to fail As a fan of PowerShell I know that I'm able to read reg keys and values from a standard account using the command Get-ItemProperty. I made a few changes to main.js and now MEPCE Sync is working as expected from a standard user account (no admin privileges required).   Note: main.js is minified out of the box - I formatted the document with Prettier in order to debug. I've included line numbers as comments after formatting, but your mileage may vary. Issue: In Fabrication CADmep 2026, the LFILL (Line Fill) command intermittently applies insulation to newly created parts even when the active service has no insulation specification assigned. This occurs despite the service database being confirmed clean and does not affect parts placed manually or via other routing methods. The issue appears isolated to LFILL behavior and is reproducible within the same session. Observations include: LFILL-created parts showing insulation when Service Insulation Spec = None The issue occurring after switching from an insulated service to a non-insulated service Insulation persisting at the part-instance level even after reapplying the service Manual part placement not exhibiting this behavior Insulation only clearing if manually removed or if the service insulation is temporarily toggled on and off This means every pipe that incorrectly assign insulation requires manual cleanup via Item Properties.   To reproduce this issue: Open CADmep Draw pipe with a service that has insulation assigned to it Switch to a non-insulated service Run LFILL Insulation appears on non-insulated service   After discussing possible causes/workarounds with ChatGPT, it told me this:   (Not sure if it helps, or is even accurate)   - LFILL appears to reuse previously initialized part data or cached part state and does not fully re-evaluate or clear insulation metadata based on the active service at the time of part creation.   Show More

Some projects we had to model Plant3D for Isometrics and in the end for the project the client would require us send them a Revit As build model. The drainage standard AS/NZS 3500:2 4.9.1 (2021) has been updated and now requires a 15-degree incline on the branch of the 45-degree junction when connecting 100mm drains. We have been achieving this by rotating the junction and then using a 15-degree bend to correct the drainage grade back to the required 1:60 after the incline, which works but is time consuming.  A new fitting has been released that incorporates the 15 Deg offset into a single fitting, however, the closest I can get to a workable CID is Pattern  2938, however the Angle adjustment controls both the branch angle and the offset angle. If the offset angle could be altered independently, this would allow the correct adjustment with the rotation valve.  I would like to see a pattern like 2938 that allows for the branch to be rotated around the body so that when inserting the fitting it does not require constant rotation after insertion, and the second angle is independent of the branch angle, moreover, the pattern has angle tolerance to allow for sloped connections. Or if anyone has any suggestions on other patterns I should try.      Show More

We could really use a script when straight is added or unequal as a flag/selection on the CAD side. We are running into issues on our install drawings not showing rectangular or round fittings when we added straight to Connector 1 or Connector 2. Example: elbows. The labels should be placed on burned panels facing the same orientation as the Graphical CNC view. So, after the fitting is assembled all the labels are facing the same direction.  For example, C1 is always facing the bottom.   This used to be the case, but after years of updates CAM lost this function.  Show More

We require a straight duct with a specified length longer than a standard decoiled straight, that will be automatically divided into decoiled straights and cut-type straights.    When estimating a total length of duct run for instance, this will have to be pre-measured by the operator stating the amount of decoiled straights and remaining length of cut type straight. This takes a lot of time and would be more productive if it was automated.   As per case no: 22626986 you replied the following:   "When a straight duct is added, it is considered as 1 single item to be developed. So, whatever the length is provided, the cut type is determined just once based on that. Also, when Item qty is increased, it acts as a multiplier of the length value, and thus does not change the Cut-type accordingly. For example, if the length is set as 1000mm and the qty is 10, it will show the total qty/length as 10,000mm, but will also nest all the duct pieces." Show More

As far as I see it there's no way to see what commands are being entered in ESTmep. This would be extremely helpful in creating macros to speed up processes whilst estimating.   My target would be to create macros to greatly speed up item entry when using the design line to estimate. i.e. assign the item command for a common item such as a VCD to a mouse button, so there's no need to click on the item. If there is already a simple prefix for the command that I could use I'd really appreciate it if somebody could tell me as it could save me a lot of time. Show More

With all of the different types of dampers available, it would be nice if we could sort dampers into groups. We have different standoff elevations, dampers we buy out, and dampers we burn.  Also, the database dampers, (added through the connectors tab in the fittings), should have a maximum width in them if they are rectangular -  instead of just the manually selected damper, (CID 921), having that option. Right now we can't cut the holes and fixing holes for the rectangular dampers that are over 12'' wide. A 24''x24'' duct should have 2 dampers, which would be 2 sets of holes. Currently that would only give us holes for 1 damper.  Show More
