Sheetset Manager - Sheet Views / Place Callout Block

I broke my brain making a block that is interactive with the sheet set manager. My intention is to have (at least two??) blocks that, one is similar to a multileader and calls out something, eg. (1/C10.0) LIGHT DUTY ASPHALT PAVEMENT . Then on C10.0, I'd have just (1) LIGHT DUTY ASPHALT PAVEMENT.

I was generally successful on this as indicated above, but then I started thinking and tinkering with how this might would with a detail "template" (a dwg of all the detail views). Once I import a template of the view and respective blocks, the sheet views are "broken" and must be renamed and renumbered. I am not excited about the idea that I'd have to rename & renumber every detail that I need to call out. 

How do you guys accomplish this? Any other pointers or recommendations, even if its a youtube link or forums link would be greatly appreciated.

I have not found any information on the creation of templated sheet views and how they relate to ssm.

The problem is better phased as such:

Detail-number/callout blocks still point to the old Sheet Set after a drawing is copied into a new Sheet Set.

Without it:

• blocks keep the old .dst path and old Sheet View GUID;
• fixing dozens of details would require manually reinserting or relinking each one.

I believe the answer is to create an AutoCAD .NET API script that:

• Searches model space and every layout.
• Finds every block named exactly: *whatever your block is named*
• Reads each block’s *whatever your sheet view is that is comparable to the model view* value.
• Finds the matching Sheet View in the destination Sheet Set.
• Updates the block’s Sheet Set fields:
  • database path;
  • Sheet Set GUID;
  • Sheet View component GUID.
• Refreshes the title and detail number fields.
