New Autocad 2017 user. old 20+ years with Microst..having problems with blocks

So I'm a brand new AutoCAD user.  Taking a class with Penn Foster for AutoCAD 2017.

I have many years using MicroStation and still use it for work everyday.

I'm working a project in this class that calls for tree blocks.  I created them with precision point insert and they looked gorgeous yesterday when I saved my drawing and got out.  When I opened again last night the tree blocks precision points were large circles on the outside of the tree.  

What happened.  they look awful!

I'M PRETTY SURE I DID NOT CREATE DYNAMIC BLOCKS.

Any reason you're not able to post images or the actual DWG file? We can't guess a visual problem.
What did your instructor suggest as a fix?

Your point style setting would be my guess.
