Flipped arcs do not stretch

This has me stumped. The attached block has a stretch ("Length") parameter and 4 flip parameters which are all controlled via a block parameter table with selections for "Concave" and "Convex". With the block in its initial state (Convex) the length stretch works fine. With the block in Concave the length stretch is not stretching the arcs. It stretches the other lines that are in the selection set but not the arcs.

I have tried using the individual flip grips so to eliminate the block table from the equation but that did the same thing. Ive tried including and not including the flips in the stretch selection set and that didnt change anything. I tried making a new stretch parameter, no good. I made a new block with just an arc and added a stretch and flip to that and it worked fine. So what is wrong with this block that the arcs are not stretching when flipped? Thanks for looking and for any help in advance.

Hi,

The problem seems to eradicate if you replace those arcs with plines.(see attachment)

That does indeed solve the problem. Although I sure would like to know why it was a problem in the first place, it just doesnt make sense to me. Nevertheless, thank you for the help!
