Data Extraction per Layout

Hi all,

I have come across something i'm sure plenty of others have, so this may be an easy fix/problem. What I am trying to do is have a Data Extraction Table extract data from the objects that are on the sheet I am working on, not from the entire drawing. I have filtered out the blocks I need but have not found a way to extract data individually per the layouts. Thanks in advance!

Hi Jose,

In the second step of the DATAEXTRACTION popup window, you can select the objects you want to extract in a specific layout/drawing. This does not allow selection of objects in model space visible in the paper space of said specific layout. If you want to select objects in model space from a layout, you need to enter a viewport before launching the DATAEXTRACTION command, then you'll be able select the objects inside the viewports. While selecting, you can go from a viewport to another simply by clicking from one to another, this will allow to add objects to the selection.

Thank You! this worked great! This is a great start to showing management that AutoCAD is worth the price, and a time saver.

To take this a step further. If I have 20 paperspace sheets, can I run a batch data extraction, or will I need to run the command for each sheet?

Hello

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this doesn't work dynamically?

If you plot more blocks, you have to repeat the data extraction. *?*

..and another thing, if I'm right. You can't place this table in the paperspace, but you have to align in the modelspace?
