adding leader to block

Hi,

I am not familiar at all to Dynamic blocks, so I need your detailed help.

I created a tag with attributes I want ta add a leader to point to whatever I am tagging. I need the leader to stay attached to the tag and have the option to flip to the other side depending on what direction I am tagging. If this is possible, can you please give me detailed instructions on how to do this?

thank you

Why not just use MLEADERSTYLE command to define a custom tag (if the default do not meet your needs) and use that instead? You can easily make that tag leaderless or leader-ful as you wish all day long after that with MEALDER command and all o the mleader tools in the program.

@pendean is right. Instead creating a dynamic block with leader you can utilize the multi leader. As you have already created the tag block, type in the command MULTILEADER(MLD) and the select "option" and then the "content type" next "block" after that type in the block name given to the tag. Now you will have the tag with leader which acts more intelligently.

Type in the command MLD and try to draw mleader. Does the mleader contain your tag or not?

if not then attach you tag, so that I can help you out.

No.  I created a multileader style.  Set that style current and add as many of them as you like.  Add as many leaders as you like to each multileader.

In other words you would no longer use the tag block outside of the multileader.  Whenever you wanted to insert a tag, you would insert a mulileader of that style.  Set any specific leader properties within that style.  If you want a tag without any leader, then remove the leader in the same way that I added them.

If you primarily want the block not to have any leader but want the option to add a single leader for special circumstances, that can also be done as a dynamic block.

Honestly it is harder and less functional than using multileaders, but here you go:

If you use lines rather than a polyline for the two segments that are 0 width, then you can use a polar stretch on both the arrow point and the line endpoint that ends at the arrow point.
