PDF User Manual for Fusion 360 [Ultimate]

Is there, or could I suggest, a PDF User Manual for Fusion360. The easiest way to learn is to have a printed document by ones side, so that you can read and type at the same time. The video instructions provided are first class but it can be very distracting if you are flitting between the two continuously and makes for slow progress.

Thank You.

Thank you. I have gone to the learning section many times. I have seen the
short cut page but didn't copy it. I'm sure it will be helpful.

I have what I think may be a different reason for wanting a .pdf User's Manual for F360.

I frequently find myself working off-line. ie, no SECURE internet connection.

Under those circumstances, the existing "help" functions are of no help whatsoever.

I've gone thru the video tutorials, they are nice, but they have their limits.

For example, the one on "Joints", mentions that it helps to "ground" one of the components being joined.

Unfortunately, it says nothing about how to do that. It requires a search to find out how.

I combined all the listed .pdf and added the shortcut sheet for anyone who wants it. It is in the attached .zip file.

I have not yet tried, but what pdf reader are you using? most pdf reader

website.

With respect to the CAM manual it would really be nice to have a lot more detail on the Tools, Geometry, Heights, Passes and Linking tabs.  (Pages 8 and 9 in the Cam manual that you have started on.)  There are huge number of variables and they change depending on the type of pass that you are doing, i.e. pocket vs. contour.  So far I have had little issue with the type of pass but keep getting caught in the details within these tabs.  I use the active links that explain things but find them only useful about 50% of the time.  I would hope in a written manual that you would have greater/more detailed descriptions.

Thanks

I appreciate the effort put into this, which seems to be a compilation of the tutorials and short cuts. I'm still looking for a printable comprehensive User Guide, if there is one. Thanks!

I also live in an area with poor internet service, regardless of who the provider is. This makes online tutorials and any kind of Cloud software and Cloud storage problematic. Fusion 360 works very well on my computer, but it's essential to SAVE OFTEN for when my work gets interrupted.

I totally agree with other posts that it's much faster to learn software with a printed manual, instead of just having the online videos and tutorials, hunting for the information I need, and bouncing back and forth between different open browser windows on my computer. It's much easier to find the specific information I'm looking for in a printed manual, and I can put in a lot of extra time studying a printed manual when I'm away from my computer, or during the times when a computer is not available. Obviously that's impossible to do with information that's only available online in bits and pieces. Plus I can add my own notes to a manual that I have downloaded and printed. For all of my other Cloud software, I have been very happy to download and print, at my own expense, User Manuals of 500 to 1,000 or more pages, because the time savings in learning the software are enormous. But to each their own. I do understand the challenges of keeping lessons and instructions up to date for complex software that is rapidly evolving. For now, I have suspended my use of Fusion 360 until I hear things have settled down, and a downloadable User Manual becomes available. I think it's a great product and it certainly has its advantages, but I also need to spend more time producing billable work, and less time trying to learn the software's basic tools and techniques by searching through videos and tutorials, posting questions on forums, contacting technical support, and waiting until somebody gets back to me.

If I understand correctly, this thread is about the many legitimate reasons for having a comprehensive User's Manual that can be printed, and can then be studied and referenced while the user is away from their computer and the internet. A printed User's Manual would also make it a heck of a lot faster and easier to find the solution to a problem while actually using Fusion 360, without having to interrupt work to go searching through a bunch of online videos, tutorials and forums, most of which would be irrelevant to the immediate task at hand. Because of the topic of this thread, I don't understand why people keep posting links to online tutorials, YouTube channels, ebooks with embedded video and file links, etc. to learn how to use Fusion 360. Those are great resources, but they do not negate the need for a comprehensive pdf User's Guide that can be printed, for the many reasons that have been repeatedly stated by other contributors to this thread. By way of analogy, when I buy a new car, I expect to get an Owner's Manual with it that I can read when I'm at home. I don't expect to get a list of online tutorials that explain how all the various features work, that I'm supposed to watch while I'm trying to drive down the road.

Clicking on the link to download the zip file brings up a page telling me that I'm not authorized to do it.
