June Release: Upcoming User Experience Updates.

AU-2024-0044.jpg

Since the launch of the redesigned forums, we've focused on maintaining platform stability, completing the community structure migration, and finalizing the broader Community Modernization Project.

With that foundation now in place, we're shifting our attention to prioritized bugs and user experience enhancements to ensure the Autodesk Community remains a valuable tool that empowers every user to learn, share, and create, with community content embedded across their journey.

To this effect, by tonight PST we'll be rolling out the below updates based on quantitative and qualitative feedback, and in alignment with our broader business goals.

 What’s New

  • Updated Events Logic on Board Pages
Previously, on-demand events older than one year were hidden from industry and category pages but still appeared on some board pages (e.g. Inventor Forum). This has now been resolved. Board pages are aligned and will no longer show outdated events.
  • Improved Blog Image Quality
We’ve addressed an issue that caused pixelation of blog cover images. The cover images will appear clearer across Community Blog articles.
  • New Banner on Boards and Categories
A banner will be visible on board and category pages. We’ll use this space to surface relevant campaigns, news, and things of interest.
  • “Like” Functionality Restored
The ability to “Like” posts at the topic level will be re-enabled.
  • Improved “Show More” Behavior
On the “All Forums” page, the “Show More” button will behave consistently with the same feature on the homepage.
  • Cleaner Activity Feed Metadata
On the industry, category, and board pages, the topic metadata in the activity feed will appear on a single line, making it easier to quickly scan through content.
  • Better External Group Handling
Links to external user groups will open in a separate tab and be more clearly indicated.
  • Search Defaults to “This Board”
The default search behavior has been set back to “This board”. This was reverted earlier but is included here for clarity.
  • Accurate Reading Time for Asian Languages
Blog articles in Japanese and Chinese will show accurate estimated reading times. Previously, the calculation underestimated time to read.
  • Home Page Sorting
We're adding the ability to sort product forums by alphabetical order and by popularity. This ensures that you're able to find your specific community easier and faster.

Finally, we’re working on a better way to co-create with you, our community members, and gather your feedback more efficiently. We’ll share more details about this plan soon.

We appreciate your feedback and patience as we continue to make the community a better space for all.
