I would like to use the layer commands that work by clicking on an object on all C3D objects and labels.
This would save much time and frustration in setting the layers for various viewports, or just isolating a couple of layers for working in the drawing.
To do this, the LAYMCUR, LAYFRZ & LAYOFF commands would have to operate on the layer in the style of the object when you click on it, not the object layer. The LAYISO command would need to operate on both the object layer and the style layer to maintain the visibility of whatever you click on. For an object like a surface which may have many different layers set, only the part that you click on will be operated on. So, for example, if you LAYFRZ and click on a TIN line, you freeze the TIN layer but not the contour layer.
It is one of the items that causes constant eye-rolling in this office:
"Sure you can freeze that layer off, but not by clicking on it. Sorry, no you have to go digging in the layer list to do it. And if you don't remember what layer it is, you have to open up the style box first to find out."
I've actually started putting objects on their respective layers (after creating them) to make these commands work for me.
