I would like to be able to select individual objects from Xref drawings, both to be able to see the object properties in the Properties palette, and be able to use those objects as baselines/targets for different civil 3d functions.
If we have a survey drawing, a corridor drawing, and a cross section drawing, you currently might have to project your survey database into multiple different drawings to properly utilize different functions. This is certainly possible, but it becomes cumbersome to keep updated, especially if the survey team deletes figures from the database, which can often lead to orphaned figures in other drawings.
If we could select, and or target individual objects from a reference file, then we would only have to worry about the keeping a single drawing up to date, rather than making sure that the, survey database, data shortcut, and any other duplicated elements all remain in sync.
Simply an item to consider that would make life much easier.
Alternatively expand data shortcuts so that they work with absolutely any class of objects, and would keep things in sync that way. Currently there is no ability to data shortcut feature lines, survey points, or survey figures.
