Admittedly, I do not know why I even use a miscellaneous alignment. I figured it was a good way to sort them out. But I recently ran into a dilemma using miscellaneous. If I am using them incorrectly let me know
Im working on a street scape where the curb line bumps out and in. I started the design with a center line and two miscellaneous alignments . If you can offset from cl and get all the bumps and curves let me know.
So it was miscellaneous for the curb line. all pretty good so far. The Corridor subs and horizontal decisions dropped in the many feature , rain garden swale, ped ramp crossings, seating , parking bays. some judicious targeting with offset link to surface built the corridor nicely.
here is where it went wonky. I started with barrier curb then switched to curb and gutter. easy adjust of the subs, but you cannot make a surface profile with the offset alignment. Why?
Cant swith it to center and get the function and I had way too many targets to do over.
Having surface profiles available to miscellaneous alignment offsets , just like center lines would be a good thing
