I don't know of any reason too look at plot details unless something went wrong. Why are plot details the easiest option when clicking on the printer icon. I believe that most users would like an easier way to view the new file when creating a pdf. Please make view plotted file the easiest option to select from the printer icon. If you use ArcGIS Pro you know exactly what I'm talking about. ArcGIS Pro makes it simple to see what you want to see and doesn't bug the user with the option to see plot details.
