Make "PKT" files for stock subassemblies available to users.

Suggestion:

Make PKT files for stock assemblies available to users.

Discussion:

Creating subassemblies using Subassembly Composer (SAC) is time consuming. It would be more efficient if a stock subassembly could be used as a starting point. This would allow for customization and be educational in seeing how a specific subassembly was developed.

I am aware that some sample PKT files have been provided. In general these are not good example of using point and link codes.

I understand that at least some of the stock subassemblies were not created using SAC. At least provide PKT files fro subassemblies that are compatible. I would hope that any new development is being done using SAC.  (Autodesk - Can this be verified?)

As for stock subassemblies that are compatible with SAC, I suggest that Autodesk at least consider creating and making available SAC versions. I know that this will require effort from Autodesk, but the alternative is requiring the same effort over and over by each user that needs to modify the stock subassembly.

Absolutely, we could do much more and understand SAC better if subassemblies which come with installation could be used as template. I'm not aware of the limitations, why can't they be edited to save a new version? Sometimes it is needed to change just a few links of a "stock" assembly, to achive this you design a whole new subassembly currently (if one can...).

Is there any update on this?

Hi

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/civil-3d/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/PKT-fil...

This link includes (SAC) stock and while i was working on it I realised that example of the api_function ( cut ; situations 1- deep 2- shallow ) these conditions maybe have been written wrong as name ? Could you check and inform to me about it please... This is will be helpfull to us understand the subject clearly ! regards and thanks

I've used several different subassemblies that were CLOSE to what I needed but I would have really liked to make slight modifications to them.  Now that we can link directly to a PKT file, it would be nice if I could use one of the built-in subassemblies as a starting point to create a new subassembly.
