I would like to have the ability to freeze Civ3d components (not just the object layer).   Example: I have a surface. The style has the major and minor contours on different layers. When I try to freeze a minor contour a 'selection cycling' dialogue pops up asking if I want to freeze the objects layer, or the component layer. Bringing up 'edit alignment geometry' should disable picking alignments other than the one picked for editing after selecting an editing option from the toolbar. It is countless clicking on the screen currently when trying to connect alignment elements, as wrong alignment gets selected, if some element overlaps with undelaying other alignment. You have an otpion to hide temporarily the other alignment of course, but this could be avoided I believe. I'm still on Civil 2017, maybe this is fixed in 2018 already? Show More

While corridor surfaces are not firmly determined by outer limits of links it is built on (triangulation interpolaton bleeds at curves), it would be nice to have a option to define boundary of side by side link codes or by selecting siding featurelines rather than defining the boundary 'interactively' which also results in loss of the boundary when sections are edited. Hi,   Is there a way to run the "extract corridor solids" command in the back end with support for multi-cores? When extracting a feature line from a corridor baseline (e.g., for pile walls, retaining walls, or other angular structures), Civil 3D currently does not allow curved vertices at sharp corners while maintaining a dynamic link to the corridor. This limitation breaks the workflow when trying to apply daylighting around corners. In real-world design, corners are rarely solved with perfect perpendicular daylighting. Instead, a tiny curve or fillet at the vertex would better represent the actual geometry and allow smoother transitions—especially when sweeping daylight around wall subassemblies. Problem: Corridor corner solving fails when trying to daylight from a corridor baseline with sharp angles. Extracted feature lines are strictly linear at vertices, causing perpendicular daylighting that doesn’t reflect real corner cuts. To add curves, users must break the dynamic link with the corridor—losing parametric control and design efficiency. Proposed Solution: Allow users to add a tiny curve or fillet at vertices of extracted dynamic feature lines from corridors. Maintain the dynamic relationship with the corridor even after adding the curve. This would enable realistic corner daylighting and smoother subassembly sweeps without sacrificing corridor intelligence. Benefits: Preserves dynamic corridor workflows. The tool significantly improved my workflow and provided valuable functionality that is currently not available natively within the software. I contacted the developer, Eng. Hosney Alaa, directly via his personal email ([email protected]), and he confirmed that an updated version of the tool is being developed to support Civil 3D 2026. Given its usefulness and the productivity benefits it offers, I sincerely hope Autodesk will consider officially integrating this tool into Civil 3D in future releases. Debería existir una extensión que permita crear volúmenes en 3D especializado en obras de arte (Alcantarillas, Pontones, Badenes, muros de contención), de tal manera que al insertarlos en el Civil 3D pueda tener las características de un ensamblaje para poder saber el movimiento de tierras y el espacio necesario  por ejemplo en la imagen anterior dibujar una alcantarilla y unos muros de contención en 3D, si se comportaria como una superficie podriamos encontrar el movimiento de tierras  Show More
