Vertical profile co-ordinates

Hi all,

Query has come in from a contractor asking if we can provide co-ordinates for the start and end of curves on the vertical profile long section.

I had a look through the vertical geometry options and couldn't see any way.

Any ideas?

You should be able to label these locations with coordinates in the plan view with a reference text component for the profile geometry within an alignment label style.

New:  I may have read that wrong ... my brain went to vertical curve start and end cordinates.

Reference text component for an alignment within a Horizontal Geometry profile label.  That should do it.

Ok, this is do-able, pseudo band looking text.

Make a vertical curve label style(s). in it make two reference text components for an alignment showing the northing and easting coordinates. Anchor one to the Anchor Curve Start Dimension and the other to the End Dimension. Label the profile, select them and give them the reference alignment name in the properties window.  At the bottom of the properties window in a place to set their dimension anchor. Set this anchor location to coincide with the band location.

Those locations are the start and end points of the vertical curves, yes?

Yes that is what I'm needing.  The vertical profile label needs to show the start and end co-ordinates of the curve (i.e. in plan view setting out of the actual curve on site.).

The previous image gives duplicate co-ordinates and actually relates to the crest of the curve, i.e. the high point, rather than the start and end point of the curve.

You have the beginning and ending stations of the vertical curves along the alignment.  That should be easy enough to get the coordinates.
