Fatal Error when I create a Data Shortcut a pressure network in Civil 3D 2021

I have created a pressure pipe network in my design base file from an object (polyline). I have 3 pipe runs in the design file, but they have disappeared in Prospector since I created them. I created profiles from the pipe runs initially, and the profiles and pipes are still working just fine. Is there a reason the pipe runs would disappear but everything else is still functioning correctly?

I have also created a data shortcut for the pressure network. I get the fatal error message below whenever I attempt to create a pressure network reference in another drawing:

I have set the correct part catalog, brought in the part styles and part lists to the new drawing and I still get the same fatal error message. I have not created any custom parts or styles, they are all the pre-loaded 2021 Civil 3D parts and styles.

Is there another step that I am missing? Are the pipe runs disappearing contributing to the Fatal Error?

Welcome to the forums,

I would venture to say the file is corrupt, are you using data refs from other file or have everything in one drawing. Try running audit or recover to see if it helps

Thanks Rick!

I have everything in one drawing, and I have run Audit, Purge, and Recover multiple times to try and fix the problem, but it still Fatal Errors when I attempt to create a reference from a data shortcut.

I have also started from scratch in a new drawing using the same process, but I get the same issue. I had a coworker try the same process on another computer and had the same problem. Could the pressure network catalog be corrupt?

Thank you for your help!

You might also try create a new drawing from the Default Imperial or Metric NCS DWT files. And yes there is always a possibility of corruption of a network catalog, especially when adding or creating custom part to add to the catalog. As a best practice they generally say to make a copy for back-up prior to editing.

Have the same problem with Civil 21 when trying to reference pressure pipe networks. Has anyone found a solution about this problem?
