Missing Tool Palettes and Workspace after restart

Hi, I'm having a problem with a coworkers C3D 2016 installation where I install our tool palettes which work fine while the drawing is open but disappear as soon as that drawing is closed. When reopened the palettes no longer show up in the list within Customize Palettes so the .xtp's need to be reimported each time C3D is opened. The .xpg that was created is there but without the palettes that were brought in the previous time the program was open. Also, I've tried saving a custom workspace which again works fine while the program is open but disappears as soon as the program is restarted. He also has an error message pop-up on restart that states the following shortcuts in the search were invalid and ignored. Then it lists the name of the zip file of our customization folder that contains our palettes, templates....etc. I have no idea why it's even looking for the zip file which I just unzip and save to c\program data and direct everything within C3D there. I'm guessing that all three are related but have looked everywhere I can think of to look with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

Dear Friend,

Try open the program with 'run as administrator' mode and see if it works.

Or else there is some other thread that describe a similar issue.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply.  The administrator role did not work and I looked at the thread mentioned but couldn't quite follow what that person was doing.  When he is talking about the local folder with the atcpcatalog file that he sets to first in the options tab is he adding a folder under tool palette file locations and just moving that folder to the top of the list?  Which local folder is he talking about as I found that atcpcatalog.atc file in at least a dozen places on my c drive?  Maybe someone could help me out by explaining his process in a little more (or a lot more) detail.  Thanks!

Let's try this way.

1. First install your tool palette.

2. Open the tool palette.

3. Right click and choose customize palette

4. Go to your tool palette

5. Right click and select export

6. Then close the dwg.

7. Reopen the dwg. As you say now you don't have your tool palette.

8. Just create a new blank palette to with the name of your old palette

9. Follow option 3-4 and step 5 use import instead of export.
