This new xref compare popup is driving me nuts.  How do I disable it?

Funny...!  Have you even used ver 2021?  Every time you change an xref it kicks you into the xref compare editor.  There is a box you can uncheck that will prevent it from doing this.

Try setting XCOMPAREENABLE to 0.

Thank you for the actual response, as opposed to the idiots in the peanut gallery chiming in. After 10 years of clicking on the reload xref popup, re-training yourself NOT to click on a popup in the same area (even after unchecking xref compare, a separate comparison popup will still sometimes appear) is a headache.

I have the same issue. Setting XCOMPAREENABLE to 0 results in an error message stating "XCOMPAREENABLE is not allowed during XREF Compare"...! How does one STOP and XREF compare? I've tried right clicking and double clicking the xref to no avail.

Thanks for any assistance.

Found it! there is a floating toolbar that appears when using xref compare. Click the checkmark to end the compare.

A couple of thing I might suggest. One is to use the Express Tools System Variables Editor to try and change the variable as I show in post 6.

Another would be to add that to the monitored variables using SYSVARMONITOR or adding it to the acaddoc.lsp file.

I started working on AutoCAD 2022 and this command works great to turn off the Compare.

I like the compare for some things but when working and you know what changed it slows down the workflow.

Thanks for Posting back on 06-03-2020!!

Thanks!  R-clicking and trying NOT to hit the compare button since it defaulted to where the reload all function was, was really getting old.  If AutoDESK would simply have put that feature in a NEW SPOT, say at the top of the mini-pop up list, I wouldn't mind that feature existing, because I could see how it could help when someone else changed a drawing.  But putting it where it was, was too much of an annoyance.  Way too many years of muscle memory to overcome for a feature I would barely use.

Well, it is a handy functionality, but it should be mentioned that a viewport (in a layout) is automatically set to 2D Wireframe if the comparison is active and a change in an Xref is detected (at least on my 2022 installation). At first, I thought this is a bug (I didn't even know xcompare), my viewport always switched to 2D after changing an Xref and reloading it. Maybe there is a Sysvar for this, too ?

Or, since I generally do not work with revision clouds et al in Acad and therefore don't know them in-depht, maybe they need 2D WF mode for being displayed ?

EDIT: Sorry, I forgot to make this a reply to @AllenJessup

@oskar.erdoedy I believe you're right. But I don't have a definitive answer.

It's liked because you provided an actual solution - instead of being a snarky, condescending, sarcastic waste of space. So yeah ... THANKS!
