Civil 3d odd behaviour

Hello

I will try my best to describe this issue...

I have attached three screenshots with my query. They show which buttons/tools that I try to click on/access, but when clicking them, Civil 3d becomes unresponsive. The system warning chimes sound is heard when I click anywhere after and the only way to get back is to push esc - almost like the correct window is opening for the tool but cannot be seen.

In "1.jpg" I tried to access "Topologies" and then a weird little window appears in my screen that I cannot maximise (shown at the red arrow).

In "2.jpg" I tried to attach a drawing, same thing happens, Civil 3d becomes unresponsive....

In "3.jpg" I tried to import a *.shp file,  but when I tried to select the "3 dots" to choose which data to bring in, same thing happens, Civil 3d becomes unresponsive....

I am running Civil 3d 2019 on Windows 10, with UHD 620 on board.

Please advise.

Thank you

The first thing I noticed in your screencaps is you are in the Planning & Analysis workspace.  Try switching to the Civil 3d workspace and see if those commands work better.

Hi

Thanks for the response. I have tried to attach and import through the command line in Civil3d workspace to no avail. I have also tried repairing and reinstalling Civil3d to no avail. This is bizarre.

Hello

I really appreciate the feedback! I have updated, same thing. I have tried the "offscreen" window tips, I was able to move the topology window, but not restore it and use it. I will reset all to defaults and see if that works.

It's so strange.

Hahaha!

That was so frustrating. I have reset, repaired, reinstalled, pulled hair out - you were on the right track with the window display issues, although the fixes did not work. BUT, I went into Win10 display settings and just flipped between resolutions and scaling and voila, it worked, the windows came back. It was frustrating as I lost all my custom settings, but hey fresh start.

Thank you
