1 Machine - 2 instances

My company runs on 2018 versions of Civil, standard CAD, and LT.

Each machine only has one of the versions installed.

We run into projects that take hours to publish.

Publish in background on these large projects fails at least 50% of the time.

So to publish in the foreground, we lose the ability to work on projects for hours at a time.

As a solution we will run a second instance of the software while the publish is working on the other.

My question is, will this be seen as using multiple seats, or is one machine allowed to run multiple instances under one seat?

You can run multiple sessions without breaking your license agreement.

You cannot, however, share licenses among users, even though only one is installed per workstation. For Single user (standalone), each Autodesk license is now tied to a named user. You are not allowed to let John use the software in the morning and Jane use it in the afternoon. The exception to this is if the company's designated Software Coordinator logs in at his/her own account, un-assigns to software from one user and re-assigns to a different named user. You are not allowed to use a common, shared login. Each individual must be named on Autodesk Account and login with his/her unique id.

You can share license if you have a network version. this allows you to install on as many workstations as you like, but the license manager will only let run the number of licenses to which you have subscribed.

Perhaps I do not understand your problem.  If I do, then I recommend a product that I have used for some years.  It is Acro Plot by Cadzation.
