I was excited to see Autodesk add project files folder to model coordination in May but it's like adding another prong to a fork when the people need a spoon!
Users need the ability to publish views from Revit/CAD/Civil 3d to a specific folder. Making endless copies of revit models for the purposes of coordination is a completely inefficient workflow that creates incredible potential for document management problems. BIM 360 is supposed to solve document management problems, not add more to the mix!
Whether on the design or construct side of the business, giving users the ability to publish views to specified folders that are setup as coordination spaces would mimic the BIM 360 Glue workflow, allowing modelers/detailers/etc to see how their changes impact clashes/coordination on the fly. Please for the sake of humanity make this possible!!
This may be a separate idea but if the above isn't possible, how about using the entire revit model instead of published views and then give us the ability to modify view extents in model coordination views? This would eliminate soooo many steps in this model coordination workflow, eliminate unnecessary duplication of models, pull the latest data on sync or save, AND be the most accurate representation of the data.
Cheers.
