Capture project location from address in details to generate "Get Location" in Field Management Daily Logs

Capture project location from address in details to generate "Get Location" in Field Management Daily Logs

Submitting on behalf of a client. Currently the Project address does not consistently get recognized as location within Daily Logs. The workaround is to add via the web so that "Get Location" is not greyed out in the iOS device. After this first entry on the web is set all future should work on the iOS. For clients with a large number of project, going back to enter can be very time consuming.

Hello,

I would like to further expand on this enhancement request by adding some additional observations:

  • If the initial Daily Log for a project is created in the web first, all subsequent logs created in mobile will include the location zip code and allow for the "Get Weather" button to populate weather information into certain fields.
  • The "Description" field is not populated on mobile, but is always populated on the web.
  • The "Location" field will show the Zip code (only) on mobile, but always shows the full address and zip code in the web.

For projects where the initial Daily Log was created on mobile as opposed to the web, the behavior where the "Get Weather" button being grayed out and the location not populating can be corrected. This is achieved by clicking "Reopen" on any/all published logs and updating the location from the web. All Daily Logs created on mobile going forward should include the location zip code and allow for the "Get Weather" button to populate weather information.

Improvement opportunities:

  1. Correct/enhance the Daily Logs (mobile) behavior so the location for the project (from the Profile in Project Admin) is used as opposed to needing the initial log and location set in the web.
  2. Correct/enhance the Daily Logs (mobile) behavior so the "Description" and "Location" fields are fully populated on mobile as they are on the web.

Thank you.
