Till now when i was exporting reports drom Data manager from AutoCAD P&ID. those reports were not in proper sequence. Neither ascending or in descending oreder. Due to which finding perticular tag was bit tricky and time consuming. So here we did workaround to do that. Go to Project directory -> ReportTemplate folder. there you find *.xml's. whichever list you want in proper sequence, open it in notepad and add below code <OrderBy> <PnPSortItem> <SortDirection>Ascending</SortDirection> <SortColumn>XXXXX</SortColumn> </PnPSortItem> </OrderBy> at start after the first line. or you can see my attachments and your default templates to figure it out. in <SortColumn> add whatever column you need in sequence or go down and select it from <SelectList>. Save it. And export your report from data manager to see the changes.

This is related to the AutoCAD platform in genereral but what I would really like to be able to do is create realistic materials for my renders. Imagine having a tiled wall using black glossy tiles, the grout between the files needs to me matt (none-reflective) however there is no way to specify which pats of the image should reflect light and which should not. This could be achieved my using a reflectivity map, dark areas not reflective white area are. The reflectivity map works exactly the same as a bump map so this new feature simply needs to be an extension of what we alread have. Thanks for reading. Regards,

Not all programs export PCF using the same axis directions (Y North, Z up, X right-hand-rule). It would make it easier to import from other programs to provide an option to specify axis swapping as part of the import process. For example, PCF Y-axis converts to DWG Z-axis; PCF Z-axis converts to DWG Y-axis. This would have to be limited to specifying two axis - the third axis must follow the right-hand-rule based on the other two. As PCF is plain-text ASCII it should be a reasonably simple task to pre-process the contents before conversion, or provided the PCF reader creates a set of coordinate-type objects the axis values can be rotated between each other.

This issue is probably general AutoCAD... The standard response to closing a displayed DWG file with DBMOD sitting at anything other than 0 is a generic "Save changes to xxx.dwg?". This dialog gives NO INDICATION whether the "change" detected is due to an actual grapical or SYSVAR change to the DWG or whether it is nothing more than a PAN or a ZOOM to the dwg file, perhaps opened 8 hours prior and hidden behind dozens of other drawings on user's screen all day. Now, it's 5pm and time to shut down. Unfortunately,the user is presented with a dozen "Save Changes?" decisions as he tries to close down. "Did I make a graphical change to this drawing many hours ago?... or did I just open this DWG and pan over to the title block?" Suggestion 1 - The "Save Changes to xxx.dwg" dialog has A LOT of white space. At a minimum, please consider displaying the active drawing's DBMOD value in the dialog's corner. With practice, the user will soon learn what values can be ignored with a "No" response and which need a "Yes" response to "save the changes". Better yet, add some notation indicating the severity of the change -- graphics/Sysvar or just display zoom/pan change. Suggestion 2 - Add some System Variable that will suppress display of "Save Changes" when there is nothing changed beyond the equivalent of a Pan/Zoom done to the displayed drawing. As a pipe designer I would like the ability to retain manual modifictions (name and description fields) for the Dynamic Pipe Spec tool palette. Currently these are lost each time the spec sheet is switched to a different one. For example: From the Dynamic Pipe Spec tool palette right-click on any part and select Properties... Change the name and description for the part Switch to a different spec from the Part Insertion panel on the ribbon bar Switch back to the original spec Changes are lost

There should be an easy way in the spec editor to have your pipe automaticly included flanges as part of the pipe and therfore not another item in the Bill of Materials. Also, can there should be an easy way to define a maximum cut length? Thanks.

If you create a new report design it is possible to sort the data. This is a very good functionality, but it can be very dangerous, because you can miss some things when the filter is set wrong. It would be wonderful, if there was a button to check whether there are some data lines not in the report.

I believe theres enough people buying steel sections from South Africa to warrant the inclusion of the South African Institute of Steel Construction (SAISC www.saisc.co.za) steel members in Plant 3D. Whats the feeling about this in the development camp? Regards Bill Rice
