Set points in custom script components

I've managed to create a component but having trouble with the points. When I inserted my support into a pipe with a matching diameter, the component's plant connection markers keeps on popping out and I've set my points into (0,0,0) in my script. What does it mean??

Thanks for the answer. I did follow the initial pattern for the setPoint. But I have an instance that when I place my custom component into the pipe. The pipe should be positioned in the back of the component instead it pass through the component like a barbeque where my point is place. Btw I manipulate the object to move from the point of origin so that I can make the Point of origin as the point where the components connect.

Thanks for the reply.
