How to include Puddle/Thrust flanges?

Hi,

 

Does anyone know how I can add a thrust/puddle flange on a simple pipe spool?

Looks something like this.

Incase it's relevant, the material is ductile iron cement lined, and I use a combination of flanged, spigot and socket connections. Flanges and fittings are to Australian standards.

Is it a one piece item? Just add it as a spacer/coupling in the spec with the dimensions from the data sheet.

Thanks for the reply. Correct, it is a one piece item.
Though I'm not sure i'd want to use a coupler or a spacer? Wouldn't that split the pipe in 2?
Worst case scenario, I could have the puddle flange a separate item, though I don't want it to split the pipe in half.

Ah doh, I just looked at it and thought coupling.

 

You could make a block for it, then put the insertion point in the middle. Only thing you'd need to do manually would be to delete the weld on the Iso. I can't see any other way to do it automatically.

Though is the parent pipe still a single piece, or does the coupling split it (at the red point)?
If all else fails, I'll just use a 3D object to illustrate the flange... Unfortunately that defeats the purpose of using intelligent Plant3D.

Yeah the parent pipe is still split. I think I've seen others try using a "Support" because then it doesn't put in the weld, but its going to come out on reports as a support.

@h_egerits kind of a "sleeved" pipe so it sits over the pipe, not actually attach to it.

In this case, its ductile iron cast into the pipe so its a single homogeneous part... However you can buy bolted sleeved ones, I would imagine they would need a different solution.

They are for underground pipework. Usually the puddle flange is concrete encased, usually in thrust blocks or in the side of a bund or tank wall or valve pit.
