Not able to modify the length of the lines after they are drawn and I am not able to get keypad while drafting so that I can enter length values and angles. Have tried reinstalling the app but still of no use
right now I have to drag the lines to the closest or desired number of length but it results in errors and inaccurate lines.

I get that keypad when I am using my finger but not when using Apple Pencil gen 2 the only way I can draw lines is by defining start and end points. And I am not able to modify the length of the line or any other object like rectangle etc. the software doesn’t allow me to make changes to the dimensions one they are drawn
I think the pencil support has gotten better again, at least you can select the input box with the pencil now.
The problem I am having is that the old functionality, where you would start a line, then drag it in a direction, then enter the length, still works. But only occasionally. Most of the time, I pull the line out in the direction I need it, but the moment I let go it "sets" the line, and looks for the next input.
Some of the time, and I can't tell if it relates to pressure with the pencil or what, I pull the line in the direction I need, release, then can hit the length box with the pencil and enter the actual length.
Has anyone experienced this and know how to duplicate it?
I'm working on a fully updated IPAD and the March 3rd update of the mobile app.
Hi,I have the same trouble eversince the update. Did you manage to find a solution for it?

I was not. I had several back and forths with support. At first they completely missed the point of the question, and sent me the help file from a previous version.
When I pressed them on that they offered that it might happen with files that were edited in previous versions. When I responded that this was a new file freshly uploaded, they never responded.
So no, I didn't find a resolution. It does work, you just have to think in degrees and enter them manually every time, instead of just pointing and entering the length. Given the other recent improvements to the app, xref handling in particular, I'm hopeful that they are still working on it. I'm stuck in work from home, so haven't used my tablet in a couple weeks.

It sounds like you have a workaround for your current situation. Is this the case? Can you please confirm or let me know why this workaround might not work for you?
Best regards,
Thomas
Afternoon. I do have a workaround. I'm not real happy with it, as it slows me down, but given the pace of change in the app I am being patient. Is the old point and then enter system coming back? I do still get it occasionally, but have found no way to make it consistent, and get the "enter degrees" part wrong 30% of the time and get to do it twice.
Are you now assigned to this forum? When I talked to Edik at AU in Vegas I strongly encouraged him to get someone assigned, to address the rampant frustration if nothing else. FYI, you have someone else not him listed in the credits in your new resources post.
Hello
I was just checking the whole chat again. @Anonymous - you said:

Based on this, I was thinking that the following alternative steps might help:
So it would be a combination of Apple Pencil and finger usage for these cases.
I hope that works.

Hello
I know that some people are involved in this topic. So I am asking the broad audience of people who follow this topic if the steps mentioned in my previous post help as alternative steps. Unfortunately I do not have the hardware available:
Based on this, I was thinking that the following alternative steps might help:
- Create the line as described with your Apple Pencil
- If the length needs, to be adjusted, use the fact from the quote above: "I get that keypad when I am using my finger" and select the line with your finger. Once it is selected with the finger you get the keyboard and can enter the new value for the length.
So it would be a combination of Apple Pencil and finger usage for these cases.
Best regards,
Thomas
It looks like the most recent update fixed at least some of the issues.
I can now drag a line in the direction I need, then lift my pencil, and select either the distance or angle box(with the pencil), and enter a distance(or angle, but I did that with the drag)
So, I would say many of my concerns seem to have been bugs. I'm headed out into the field excited to have my tool back.
Hi @Anonymous
sounds great 🙂 Thanks for the update here in the topic. I am grad it works for you now.
Best regards,
Thomas
Unfortunately I think I jumped the gun in my excitement. In the field, I found that in fact I did still have to enter degrees manually, rather than point the line. I believe in the old version, you pointed the line where you wanted it, then hard pressed, and that left the line waiting for input, if you then hit the length box. So, not as good as I hoped.
That said, the app loaded my xref file with no issue, and I was able to get through 3 hours in the field without it crashing and deleting my progress, serious progress from the previous version. A few bugs, placing MText would leave a label "MText Location" seemingly burned into the screen, that wouldn't go away with esc etc. Reloading the drawing cleared it. A couple other odd display glitches.
I haven't adapted to the autosave feature going away. This morning I opened the drawing from the Mobile button in Autocad, which worked!!!! and all my xref reestablished themselves. (as read only, which is fine). But, I hadn't saved my last changes, and it took several tries of saving, then reloading the drawing on my ipad before the save took, and the time stamp changed in the cloud.
So, the drafting aspects aren't back to where they were, But, I got done what I needed to, and was able to use my Pencil for all of it.
