After years people loving Autodesk but Autodesk do not give hears to us. Alot of troubleshootings and ideas are here but Autodesk did not move a needle, AutoCAd Map 3D, AutoCAD Raster Design just returned (those ones had to be integrated), can not beleave that until now Map 3D can not even open Kml / Kmz from Fdo connection. Do not minimize GIS world, I think there should be also an official AutoCAD map 3D facebook page. Even on autodesk appstore there is not AutoCAD Map 3D category. As a Geographic Engineering i can feel Autodesk minimizing the GIS world while Esri, Qgis community and others are giving much importance on that bringing remote sensing and photogrametry and much more on it, Autodesk would power the AutoCAD raster Design and its results shoud reflect on Map 3D Taskpane, GIS is a world not only a small thing for Civil Engineers as Autodesk shows.   Rosario Dilo Autodesk student user since 2009 and mingrating as a profissional user and advisor once have closed the university. "GeoPackage" is the format of the future: http://www.geopackage.org/ It has to become the new "Shapefile", but without all the limitations shapefiles comes with. It's already supported by QGIS. And it has to be integrated in Map 3D! Because: GeoPackage is an open, standards-based, platform-independent, portable, self-describing, compact format for transferring geospatial information. Since a GeoPackage is a database, it supports direct use, meaning that its data can be accessed and updated in a "native" storage format without intermediate format translations.   And, it exists already an ili2gpkg Package: http://www.eisenhutinformatik.ch/interlis/ili2pg/ for easier Interlis 2 importation. Hi, Autodesk, iam coming to give my ideas, iam with a BIG GIS Project in my country (Angola) and could only do simples things with Map 3D and went to do the majority in QGIS, see what follows, (The project is with more than 300.000 Features) 1 - AutoCAD Map 3D could not save correctly to its plain file (DWG). Not saved well Current Map to Dwg. Solution found: Went to export the layer in QGIS, did not took long and the label styles were complete and perfect, in MAP 3D, the mayority of labes desapears. 2 - Export to PDF: i could create the Map Book very well, that is a nice thing of Map 3D but as the Raster imagem is big it crashing to export to PDF all the Layouts, I have got in the project files with more than 256 layouts, even the ones with less than that the operation to export all layout from the sheet manager or other places gives fatal error, only if i try to export them without the Aerael photo that is not important to the client. No solution until now 3 - Merge Layers: As you could see the project is not small, so we decided to merge 18 layers as one, more than 10 hours and nothing: Solution, in less than 10 minites could do in QGIS. 4 - Geopackage. This is the file that is coming to replace Shp, even in AutoCAD Map 3D 2019 there is no option to open that, for QGIS 3 on, now is the default file.   My Ideas: Give more importance to MAP 3D Autodesk, as i have mentioned in posts before, GIS is a world and working together with Remote Sensing, see this Autodesk.   Rosario Dilo Geographic Engineer Best Regards     Show More
