Grips bug with Map 3D 2018

Hi,

With AutoCAD Map 3D 2018 FR, a new bug has appears. It concern the grips use with several objects.

I post you a video to show the bug with an arc, but there is also some (different) problems with polylines (context menu does not appears after the first change), multi-lines, splines, and perhaps some other objects.

This problem does'nt exist with Map 3D 2017 FR and also not with AutoCAD 2018 FR.

I don't know if other language versions of Map 3D 2018 have the default.

I hope it will be solved ASAP.

Cheers.

Thierry

I have not been able to install the updates just yet for our deployment. We are hoping to resolve some other bugs along with the hotfix  at the same time this week.

Thank you for your help. I will keep you updated.

@jporter The plus signs still appear over the polylines even after upgrading to Civil 3D 2018.2 . And we can only add one vertex before hitting esc to redo the process.

It's NOT the Civil 3D update you need to install.  It's the Map 3D update.  In the link @Thomas_Stuehle provided (Grip issue with editing polyline and arcs in Map and Civil 2018) the solution states:

Yes, you are correct. I just installed that update and the issue is gone. Thanks so much!

@jporter
Me too. Same issue on Civil 3D 2018!

It is not efficient to escape out of the PL and select it again.

Hopefully this get fixed soon.

Hi all,

Has anyone found that even after installing all updates, this is still occurring?
I'm all up to date (in fact, re-installed Civil3D2018 for another reason) but still need to de-select
and re-select plines to remove vertices. Thanks.

I've assisted lots of folks with this fix and not one has come back stating the issue returned or was not fixed.

Now you said you've installed all updates, but verify the build as well.  This is mine:

No.

Can you please start command _ABOUT and show us a screenshot of that dialog?

Hi,

thank you for your screenshot!

But sorry, none of the 3 modules are updated, not AutoCAD, not Map3D, not Civil3D.

That is how your dialog should look about for Civil 3D 2018:

I may be wrong, but is this not an indication that my updates are installed...Each one says the same thing (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Map3D etc)

Hi,

Or you are not assigned to receive and install updates.

Contact your contract manager, he is the one who can give (or remove) permissions.

Also necessary: you need to have an active subscription.

I’ve found that the desktop app does not always work.  Read that link I provided above.

Thanks so much to both of you, Jason and Alfred!

It's now working as expected.
As you mention on your article, Jason I was not aware of this autodesk webpage.

@Thomas_Stuehle I have come across this issue with a freshly installed Civil 3D. Autodesk Desktop app claims that AutoCAD, AutoCAD Maps and Civil 3D are all up to date (the app says Civil 3D is on version 7.0.15.17). I am able to edit multiple vertices on a polyline in AutoCAD but I am not able to in Civil 3D or Map 3D. There is no hotfix attached to the article linked, instead the solution is to update the software, which is not possible, as the desktop app does not specify any updates necessary. I'm operating with English language settings.

Can you please start Civil 3D, then command _ABOUT and show us your screenshot?

For some reason Desktop App is not showing me pending updates that I need. My organization's IT staff manually updated Civil 3D and the bug has been resolved.

The desktop app does not always work.  I've seen some situations where it's reporting you need an update when you have the already installed and others where it says you're up to date and you're not.

First check your build (type in ABOUT at the command line) and compare it with the others that have already been posted in the discussion.  Then, if you need updates, find them in your Autodesk account.  I discuss this here in this blog:  https://www.asti.com/where-are-do-i-find-updates-to-my-autodesk-software/?preview=true&_thumbnail_id....
