FEMA WMS server connection - not connecting

All,

I am using C3D 2025 going thru the "Planning and Analysis" tab trying to connect to FEMA WMS server and having issues not connecting. I have tried two different links from their website with no success.

The links are:

https://hazards.fema.gov/wmsconnector/wmsconnector/Servlet/flood?REQUEST=GetCapabilities&SERVICE=WMS

and

https://hazards.fema.gov/wmsconnector/wmsconnector/Servlet/flood?

I copied and pasted each separately and hit the "Connect" button with nothing happening.

Any advice???

Thank you

Hi Dean,
I'm getting "failed to connect" with both URL's you posted.

@dean.borcik ,

Their WMS link is provided toward the bottom of this page here:

https://hazards.fema.gov/femaportal/wps/portal/NFHLWMS

However, the WMS link does not appear to be working (maybe I'm not versed enough to test it properly). I did test the WFS link and it is working though, so you might have to use that for now.

Best,

@dean.borcik ,

Actually, I just got it. The link had to be very specific:

https://hazards.fema.gov/arcgis/services/public/NFHLWMS/MapServer/WMSServer?

(I used the 1.3.0 for "Version", not sure if that matters or if default would work)

Best,

Hi @dean.borcik

Yes, you can make a 'connection' but you can't connect to the data you want.

1. Go to the FEMA page then scroll all the way to the bottom.

https://hazards.fema.gov/femaportal/wps/portal/NFHLWM

2. Copy the highlight address and paste it in the Add WMS Connection of the Data Connect Palette.

3.When you're connected, be sure to check the box at the bottom. It's the only layer(?) that can be added.

<<How ironical. It's named NFHL Availability>> LOL

Is the WMS connection giving you anything?
