Creating Feature Rules (Client Side)

Good Morning,

I'm hoping one of you fine folks can help me out with a task.
I'm looking to create a feature rule very similar to the "Validate Electrical Topology' rule in the Electric NA Model but I'm unfortunately not versed well enough to do this. I understand there are the sample files, but at this point, I'm hoping to get some assistance from the board here.

We are looking to create a rule that validates a field on the form, exactly like the validate electrical topology rule does for phase, circuit and voltage.

I'd really appreciate some help with this!

Thanks,

Tom

This should be straightforward.  Post your specs, Map 3D version, and I can whip something up.

You can also validate a field on a form using the Form Designer in Autodesk Infrastructure Administrator:

Hey @drewbb ,

Thanks for this! Although it's not quite what I was looking for, I definitely see some use for it in a few of our forms!

To clarify, I'm looking at how to create validation rules similar to the Phasing and Circuit rules.

IE: Line gets connected and will automatically attain the circuit, voltage, phase, etc of the device it is connected to.

In our system (Electric NA) I want to connect a line and know what switch it is fed from.

Hope that helps clarify!

Hi Tom:

I believe that propagation is built into Electric NA.  When I look at the feature rules for conductors, I see:

PropogateElectricValues_AU

PropogateElectricValues_AI

When I connect a device to a conductor, the device will be assigned the same circuit, voltage, and phase as the conductor.
