Update 2018.02 available for AutoCAD LT

Update 2018.0.2 is available for AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT and the AutoCAD based vertical products. If you have the 2018 version of those products, you can get it from the Autodesk desktop app or by finding it in your  Autodesk Account.

2018.0.2 Changes

AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT

  • Blocks- Right clicking in the Block Edit mode no longer displays an error message in the Command window.
  • Plotting- Certain text styles are no longer upside down when printed to PDF. Self-Intersecting wipeouts in a block will perform as expected when plotted.
  • General- Ability to input values for the Material Editor Palette is restored.

AutoCAD only

  • Digitally signed AutoLISP files can be loaded as expected.

Note: The 2018.0.2 update fixes an issue that would otherwise have caused the product to expire on June 1, 2017 with a pre-release product error message.   Be sure to install this update before that time to avoid product expiration. If the About dialog shows product version number as 0.61.0.0, this update should be applied. Once the update is installed, the version number in the About dialog will show 0.72.0.0

Affected products include:

  • AutoCAD® 2018
  • AutoCAD® LT 2018
  • AutoCAD® Architecture 2018
  • AutoCAD® MEP 2018
  • AutoCAD® Mechanical 2018
  • AutoCAD® Electrical 2018
  • AutoCAD® Map 3D 2018
  • AutoCAD® Civil 3D® 2018
  • AutoCAD® Plant 3D 2018
  • Advance Steel 2018

Please see this AKN article for additional details.

Check your Autodesk Account Management page for a complete list:

Access update via the Community

You can also access you it from right here in the Community by clicking Account Settings at the top right of this window.

Once it takes you to your Settings page click on Management.

Access the update through Autodesk Account:

Another easy way to get to your Account Management is to sign on in the Autodesk home page.

Once you are in your Account Management page, check out the Product Updates section or, look for the Updates & Add-ons listed under your application.

Thanks for your post.

However, some users will not be able to do the update due to various reasons and will find their software locked on June 1st.

What is the procedure for users to get AutoCAD LT running again when update 2 has not been implemented?

They have to install the update to unlock the software, or completely remove LT2018 and repvious patches then reinstall LT2018 without any patches or updates at all until the time they can install 2018.02.

There is no backdoor option otherwise.

Hi @Bram_Arkance-Systems

At the moment the only fix that is available is to apply the update. In order to access and run AutoCAD  LT 2018. If they have other AutoCAD LT applications running like AutoCAD LT 2017,2016,2015 I would suggest trying to run those in the interim. Until you can apply the update.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi @Emmsleys,

If I installed the AutoCAD-LT 2018 version on the 21st of June (2017.06.23), should I install the 2018.0.2 update separate? Or it came together with my installation?

The updates are NEVER included in the program installation: that remains static for life (as in it's the same file we all got earlier in the year).

Hi Sarah, I have just relicensed with AutoCAD LT 2018 and downloaded it onto my desktop and laptop. It is successfully activated on the desktop, but won't do so on the laptop. I have been using LT since 2015 on both machines without a problem, but now it seems it won't let me do this. Can you advise what I might do? I need the laptop for client meetings, or when I am traveling and use the desktop, with its bigger screen, for most of my work.

I have attached an image of what comes up on my laptop screen.

Thanks.

Andrew

Did you try and use the license transfer tool?
Are you not able to simply authorize LT2018 on the laptop just like you did on the desktop instead?
