Unable to run Application Manager

AutoCAD LT 2016. I'm getting the message every time I start the computer:

Unable to run Application Manager. It appears Autodesk Application Manager service is not available. Please close all other instances and retry.

What to do ??

I'm still having this error message when I log in into Windows 7. I don't have the appropriate rights to turn off or on the User Account Control like a lot of Autodesk users in the world. So I'm asking myself, what is this for terrible solution? Smiley Mad Please come with a good, permanent solution.

You need to get the approriate rights, this is a system level fix, not an end user fix: no one else can help you circumvent your IT/Company's security settings. Call your IT Help Desk or Boss.

Solution:To work around this issue, turn off the UAC control in windows.Alternatively, you can run the Application Manager with Administrator privileges.
  • Right click the Application Manager > Properties > Compatibility tab  and turn on the checkbox “Run this program as an administrator.”

Thanks pendean, I will contact our system administrator.

It's still a WORK-AROUND as stated on this page, a workaround means there's no structural solution... Why is this a problem suddenly?

Autodesk upgraded the bloatware and if you ignored it's pleas to update long enough it dies as you've discovered.

99.99% of users don't even need this nanny-nurse of a bloatware, especially if you have no ability to update your software anyway. Have your IT remove it permanently: AutoCAD/LT will notify you if you need a patch/update when you start it.

Looks like they added to or updated that link since I first posted it.

IMHO you can safely uninstall Autodesk Application manager from Windows and never worry about it again http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uninstall-change-program

Hello,

does anyboday else know what this informations is about?

Autodesk® Desktop App 6.0.33.5 seems to be not available anywhere.

My A 360 Desktop app is version 6.2.10.1700 though. Are you referring to this?

Regards.

Marco
