Trouble finding the true length of an object

We use Autocad 2018 LT so we only have 2 dimensional DWG's and my problem is we have a lots of parts that are drawn to resemble all three axis, we have a cross bracing that is on all three axis. Meaning it is not 90 degrees to any planar surface and it is drawn shorter than it actually is because of this angular view. I am trying to find the true length of  this we have a elevation view that shows the height and a plan view that shows where it is on the x/y grid.   What is the easiest way to find true length with out a 3-d visual... bracket.JPG

Rotate your view if needed then use DIST command, snap to 2 endpoints (or NEA then PERP if they are parallel or any other combo) in line with what you want to measure should work.

Or set your UCS to align with one of those planes then do as above if it is easier https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2018/ENU/AutoC...
