Simple 2D designs for organizating closets, pantries, garages.

We are looking for a program that will allow our designer to take an outdated closet, or kitchen/pantry and visually add shelving, bins, dividers, racks, poles for total organization.  Now we are free handing the reset for a closet or kitchen and it is time for an upgrade. We work with contractors with floor plans and confer on design of new construction as well with organization in mind. Is AutoCad LT over the top for our needs?  It looks like a program that is geared for engineers and architects.  Any suggestions?

Autodesk offers nothing quite so deliberately catered to your industry AFAIK.
