Poly Lines Width Not showing up in Plotted PDF

Anonymous
Not applicable

Poly lines show up fine in model space, and in paper space.  However, when I plot to a PDF the line weights disappear in the PDF.  Also,  Hatch boundaries turn render blocky (similar to a pixel), and are not smooth and continuous as in model space.

I have done the following:

Fillmode is 1
Layout Vport is not hidden
VSCurrent is 2dwire
UCS World & PLAN

Also, one of my layers is plotting the polyline width, however the others are not.  I have checked the properties, and the line weight is set to By Layer.

Thanks

Are your PLINEs on noplot layers?
Plot style table selection is incorrect overall?
LWEIGHT setting too heavy for the one PLINE width?

The poly lines are on plottable layers,  the plot style table in correct I believe, and have selected different options from the plot manager prompt.  The line weights are set to default per layer manager.

Its odd because some of the p-lines will plot with a width, however the others do not.  Also, the hatching on the turn arrows is not smooth and continuous (solid), it is blocky.

Can you share you actual DWG file?

Attached is the drawing file with the pertinent layers included.

Thank you for looking at this for me.

Thanks for the DWG file: what I see in your file with your chosen PDF driver is what I see plotting out here (see #1), what exactly is missing?

I did notice you have layer 0 frozen and off, always a bad idea in AutoCAD: changing it though make no difference (see #2).

~750 plines with Startwidth /=0
and there are more of them, nested in ARRAY objects.

Most of them with a width of 0.5 Units.

You plot with a scaling factor 0.00230602 (your viewport)

0.5 width scaled by 0.00230602 viewport-scale = 0.001153301 Units/Inch, incredible small, or?

to smal for the PDF resolution and very very to small for a printer.

Another thing, offtopic:

Why you have so much "doubled lines" ? "all" Lines&Arcs are double

Pendean,

That is what I am seeing with the PDF's.  Issues with printing/plotting

1)  Hatch for turn arrows show up blocky (zoom into the plotted PDF)

2)  Pavement lane markings are showing up as lines and not poly-lines with a width.

   *  However, Polylines with a width of 0.5 do not show up with a width

   *  Polylines for crosswalks show up with a width,  their drawing width is 1.25, or 1.5 model space)

3)  The duplicate lines per area layout were wiped out with command OVERKILL.

Note:  Only layers of concern are labeled starting with.  PVMT-MARKINGS

Thanks for the help.  Obviously I am not an advanced AutoCAD user, and trying to learn more to become a proficient drafter.

Sebastian,

What is odd about this plot:

1)  The hatched turn signals do not show up smooth, but rather blocky.

  *  zoom into pavement markings for further detail.

2)  Some polylines for pavement markings show up with their respective width, and others do not.

  *  See cross walks.

3)  Only layers of concern are the layers labels (PVMT MARKINGS).

Is a question of resolution. See my example Layout with a detail-viewport.

2)  Some polylines for pavement markings show up with their respective width, and others do not.

  *  See cross walks.

Because they are widther. By this resolution the width comes out by width 0.9-1.0 and higher.

Check out my sample where i copied some Plines, I changed the width to 0.6-0.9 and only 0.9 and more will display well.

3)  Only layers of concern are the layers labels (PVMT MARKINGS).

   Sorry, i don't understand this.
