points not visible in LT 2019

I have received a *.dwg file from a student currently working with us and the file contains our site layout and points a long the route of services. When i open the file the layers are visible for these points but the points are not. I have tried changing the point style and size but still not visible. I have since opened the file in Trueview and the points can be see here. Is there a setting that needs to be changed to make them visible?

These proxy object points that I see in LT2019.1.2 here? Or elsewhere?

Proxyobjects alert and missing SHX file (DGN linetype) come up here: looks like your student used Microstation file imported into AutoCAD Civil3D or MAP3D and you only have LT?

yea they are the points, not visible when i open them on LT but they are on Trueview.

Did you do anything specific when opening the file (newbie with this so want to learn)

Also, while i can pick the brain on a knowledgeable person can csv files be imported to LT?

No, I was using LT2019.1.2 to open your file, I did nothing more.

Do you have the latest update installed? ABOUT command will confirm, if it doesn't list the version I am above then you have an update to install. I did notice when I opened your file with RECOVER command that it found a few errors.

It may or may not help to install this as well (I don't have it installed) https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-lt/downloads/caas/downloads/content/civil-3d-2019-obj...

What from the CSV file are you wanting to import? Points, labels, tables?

I have version P.46.0.0 i sent the file to one of our designers and they exploded the points on civil 3d and it now works. The are not sure as to why think it may be a block that LT cant display.

The csv files generally have points (x,y,z) sometimes with feature.

Thanks

James

You are indeed missing the necessary update.

Read this for importing points https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-lt-forum/csv-file-type-longitude-and-latitude-coordinates-int...

I often wonder why why this is.... but what works for me is selecting the layer the points are on and just hitting "X" for explode. Just had to do it today for a file that was made on AutoCAD full feature software (Not lite). It's usually from a surveyor.... something to do with surveying points.
