Plotting from AutoCAD LT 2017

Hi

I am experiencing a minor issue when plotting separate pdf files from plot space in AutoCAD LT 2017.

When it prompts me to save the pdf plot - the full file path if the drawing name is always shortened - I'd like to save the pdf file the same name as the dwg file- again is there a setting in the plot settings that is automatically shortening this?

And what PDF driver are you using?

Hi Dean

I'm using Adobe Acrobat DC

But I think I've just solved it - I've been plotting with Adobe PDF - it appears to shorten the file name to "33 characters/spaces".pdf

e.g - a dwg file name is "16-002_A630_Interior Plans & Views_FPU_Views K1 to K13.dwg"

when I plot it with Adobe PDF it prompts to save the file as "16-002_A630_Interior Plans & View.pdf" - the last part is missing..........."s_FPU_Views K1 to K13"

But I just trialled  the DWG To PDF.pc3 plotter and the problem goes away.

So all good now

(funny how problems solves itself the minute you put it out there...)

Cheers

Use the built-in DWG TO PDF.PC3 file if you want AutoCAD help in these forums: I suspect it will do what you want.

Otherwise you will need to head over Adobe's public forums and ask about Acrobat DC plotting from AutoCAD. I don't use it and you might have to wait for a very long time for another user with it and your software to try and help you.
