Hi All

i am new to autocad and currently involved in creating drainage maps using another form of software EXCEL, we currently create our base maps showing buiolding lines, kerb lines, manholes, interceptors by either tracing around a google earth image or using a scanned in pdf to trace around, by moving away from how we currently create our plans we would still like to be able to trace around the site using a google earth image or scanned in PDF plans or by using OS maps, are the above something we can do using autocad LT or do i need Autocad for such features.

any help as to what i can and cant do with LT would be grateful.

Thanks

LT is a general drafting CAD file: you can just download a 30day trial (it will be fully functional) to test it yourself.
If you only wish to consider Autodesk software, you would be better off using the more dedicated "map" versions of AutoCAD instead, like these two (second is more for infrastructure)
