Files in Recycle Bin

I have Autocad LT 2019 installed on my Windows 10 PC.  My recycle bin keeps showing *.dwl files from other users.

Why is this happening? and how do I stop this from happening?

Thanks.

Q: Why does it matter what your recycle bin has in it? It's a trash can so to speak, it does not affect anything you use or do.

Ask your IT for guidance otherwise about it all, that's a setup they need to address in your office.

Hi @JKuhne,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD LT forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Without knowing more about your network environment it is difficult to know why this is happening. A guess though is that if you have some files on your computer and others are accessing them then perhaps the DWL files get created. Then, if you have a scheduled task to do some clean up on your computer then they might be moved to the Trash.

Autocad LT 2019 is installed on my local PC. Windows 10.

Our drawings are located on a Microsoft Cloud and OneDrive server.

AutoCAD is not designed to work with cloud-based file services: if you ll are sync-ing and sharing, you have no control over what gets dumped in your trash.

Did you talk to your IT folks about all of this yet?

pendean,

Yes I've brought this up with our IT provider.  They haven't been able to find any solutions.

It appears that it's only happening to me and not my other co-workers.

My recycle bin is showing files that they've worked on and the *.dwl or *.bak files are created.  But, they are not seeing any of these, or anything from me, in their recycle bin's.

It just seems strange that it's only showing in mine.

Hi @JKuhne,

Your computer might have  a bit of network latency.  This could be a bad NIC, cable, network port on the switch, etc.  Perhaps your IT person can take a look to make sure that this is not going to pose more severe problems for you.
