dynamic input

how do I turn off dynamic input, I have keyed F12 but this does not work

If F12 isn't working it sounds like you have either changed what F12 does or you need to do a repair install.

In answer to your question though. At the command line type DYNMODE, change the value to 0

On this page, it says F12 is a temporary override

On this page, it says F12 is the DYNMODE toggle.

 

It is defined the CUI as a temporary override, but in practice, all it does for me is toggle the status.

Note that the F12 toggle does not set it to 0 to turn it off, it simply multiplies the setting by -1, unless the setting is 0, then it sets it to 1, and the subsequent F12 sets it to -1

Beside command input. Click on wrench. Then click on OPTIONS. after window pops-up. click on DRAFTING. Then in the bottom of window click on DRAFTING TOOLTIP SETTINGS. at the bottom of the Tooltip Appearance.

Click on USE SETTINGS FOR DYNAMIC INPUT TOOLTIPS. Press OK. Click on APPLY. Click OK and enjoy
