.ctb plotstyle not showing correctly when printing to .pdf

Hi all,

We use a .ctb plotstyle when exporting and printing plans to PDF.

Since we recently switched from AutoCAD 2015 to AutoCAD LT 2020 this plot style is not working correctly anymore. For example; Linetypes plot thicker and dashed lines are scaled.

This problem only occurs when exporting a certain lay-out to pdf. We don't have this issue when we print the same lay-out directly from autocad to our printer.

Please find some screenshots attached to this message.

Best regards,
Pieterjan

Delete and recreate that problem layout from scratch, see if that fixes it.

From AutoCAD 2015 or from AutoCAD for MAC 2015?

Your current version AutoCAD LT for MAC, so it's better to ask in the AutoCAD for MAC Forum https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-for-mac/ct-p/4051

In AutoCAD (for Windows) i would say: It is't possible except there is a bug.

Thank you for your reply,
Unfortunately we have this problem with every lay-out that we print to pdf.

You don't seem to know for sure.

Show us your work: post a DWG along with its plot style table here that is a problem for you, lets see what you have going on at your end.

Please find a sample .dwg drawing and the concerning .ctb file attached to this post.

It might have something to do with your layout "Test layout" having been scaled down to 10% of the actual paper size it is being printed on. Paperspace layouts should also be kept at full size and any scaling is done just using the viewport scale, otherwise, you get problems with things like linetype scaling. Which means you have to start playing with all the various ltscale settings. Why not have the layout set to be A3 size it would make life much easier? Or did someone somewhere alter the layout in the template file you use?

Hi Steven,

Thank you for your respond.
I changed these settings, but the lines are still exporting the same way..

Can you post the dwg again with the changes, so we are all looking at the same thing. And can you confirm that it is the layout "Test layout" that is the problem but only when printing to PDF, when printing to your physical printer everything is fine?

See your MAC forum post for the solution, it was pointed out to you that the move from 2015 to 2020 on the MAC requires you to edit and rework your plot style tables due to program changes to the PDF drivers https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-for-mac-forum/ctb-plotstyle-not-showing-correctly-when-printi...

This is the file with the changes.

We have this issue when plotting every lay-out from old and new files. The plotstyle is indeed working correctly when plotting directly to our physical printer, the problem occurs when we export/print the lay-out to pdf.

Recreating the .ctb file did not work.
