CTB file not showing in plot style table search path, even though they are in that folder

Hello!

The CTB file shows up in Plot style table when I plot, but the line weights do not show when plotted and instead show in color.

My CTB files are in the plot style table search path location. When I look on my desktop they are there. when I open that path in autocad they are not there.

I share these drawings with coworkers who use the same CTB file and they don't have any issues.

I have tried coping the drawing to my desk top and this problem still occurs as well as when I open an old drawing and try to use the CTB file.

any thoughts or suggestions would be so much appreciated.

thanks

Can you post a screenshot of your plot dialog box so we can see the settings

CONVERTPSTYLES

Rob

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

A DWG file can be set to either use CTB or STB: never both at the same time. By chance is that what you are overlooking? We all suspect as much. Now you know.

Look up CONVERTPSTYLES command to switch a DWG file from STB to CTB.

Hi @h_s_walker,

This is my dialog box. it shows that the drawing is set to CTB because that is whats showing up. Does anything look out of place?

So my issue is here:

when I'm in AutoCAD my following plot path shows as empty, but you can see that in my finder window it is definitely not empty. which is weird because the CTB files ARE showing in the plot dialog box, they just aren't plotting with the appropriate line weights and is printing in color and its set to be all black and white.

That looks fine now we need to have a look at your styles table

At the command line type STYLESMANAGER. The dialog box that comes up double click on PDI_2020.ctb and post a screen shot of the TABLE VIEW. See the image below

No that's enough we can see what we need to see

I've just been reading another thread about this and @pendean mentioned in paperspace you need to tick SCALE LINEWEIGHTS in the plot dialog box.

1) While inside the viewport, start LAYER command, show us what layer colors and overrides there are if any.

2) At another user's AutoCAD/LT, start STYLESMANAGER command then send yourself their CTB file.

3) At your AutoCAD/LT, start STYLESMANAGER command, erase your CTB, drop in the replacement CTB you sent yourself from someone else.

Uncheck this box when your PLOT (maybe even try a different PDF driver, and/or plot to a printer/plotter)

I tried these suggestions and they also didn't make a difference. the CTB file is working for everyone else. i uploaded a new one just incase but it still isn't working.
i also tried to uncheck those things and they still didn't work

Your CTB file is set to "Use Object Color", and it does exactly this. You must set the color to "black".

To be honest your coworkers look like they are using the monochrome ctb to plot

The CTB file we have is meant to be like monochrome yes, but it is made to be more defined than monochrome, by using colors we are able to create more line weight thicknesses for interior floor plans. but it should be printing black and white, even though we draw in color.
