Crashing when clicking on menus

AutoCAD Lt 2014 crashes when I try to close the Command line or opening DWG files.  I have attached the dump files and attached the error log.

 

I have already tried this fix, no change

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD LT forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

 

I am sorry you have crashes when closing the command line or opening a file.

 

Can you tell me a bit about your environment? What is your OS, Graphics card make and model? Your exact AutoCAD LT version? Have you totally patched and updated your AutoCAD from here?

 

Have you tried starting your AutoCAD LT with the No Hardware switch?

AutoCAD LT 2014 - 19.1.18.0

 

Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz
16GB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M
Adapter Name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M
Memory Size: 2 GB
Driver: 22.21.13.8528
Driver Date: 8/9/2017

 

I have not applied any patches, is there a specific one I need to install?

 

I shouldn't have any issues with my video card so I have not tried to disable hardware acceleration.

Hi @Anonymous,

 

I am sorry to say, that your AutoCAD LT 2014 is not designed to run on Windows 10. Here are the system requirements for your version.

 

If you can, you might go back to Windows 8.1 or Windows 7. Otherwise you could try to run a virtual machine on your computer that has the older OS required by your software.

 

Lastly, you could consider an upgrade to current version. Here is a Trial  that would let you test for 30-days.

Your version of AutoCAD/LT2014 is not supported in Win10 as explained here http://autode.sk/1IY4C2X

For most users these free tips help a lot http://www.howtogeek.com/228689/how-to-make-old-programs-work-on-windows-10/

For others they roll back to an older Windows OS and hang on tight to it for life.

For others still they purchase a fix from these folks http://www.longbowsoftware.com

As far as Autodesk is concerned, you will need to subscribe to a newer version of LT.

User has reported no issues until a few weeks ago, is there a possible Windows Update that might be crashing AutoCAD LT 2014?

Hi @Anonymous,

 

Yes, a Windows update likely installed .Net Framework 4.7 on your system.  You can try uninstalling the Windows update but if it has been more than 10 days you will have to resort to a Restore point.

 

There is no guarantee that this will work with your product however.

Hi,

 

 

SOS SOS SOS!!!

 

 

Each time i click on a menu icon from the top [you name it - pan, extend, etc --- anything] Autocad LT 2014 crashes.

 

I have:

 

Windows 8.1

i7-3537U CPU  @2.00 Ghz 2.50 Ghz

RAM 10GB

 

For about 3 years Autocad LT 2014 worked just fine on the same computer. Suddenly everything crashes.

 

Could you advise what to do?

Some time ago I had the hard disk changed - maybe then it happened the problem...

 

I have re-installed yesterday the AUTOCAD LT 2014 + service pack but the problem staid...

Or your video card drivers are different from the old harddrive setup: see if newer (or older) drivers that the ones installed would help.
