Copy - Move lines function not working at all

I haven't been able to find any solutions as to why today the move and copy to a distance fails to work. I select copy to 60cm for example, and no line copies or appears. Same with move function. I am still able to copy or move by dragging it to no specific distance. This is happening in all of my files. Please help!

Pls try it again:

Draw one new LINE,

try to copy it the way you want to do that.

Now, try to select your Line only, use CROSS selection, not just a <pick>

Run LIST command

Press [F2] and share the result (Screenshot or copy the line from the last Command: _copy till the end)

How many objects are selected?

Restart your computer yet?

Then test in more than one DWG file.

Make sure all object snaps (2d and 3d) are disabled.

What do you mean disabled? I need my osnap function? But I turned it off and no change.

EXCELLENT!

Walk us through your steps "... I select copy to 60cm for example, and no line copies or appears. Same with move function..." since there is no CM entry option in AutoCAD.

Other things to check on:

Hi,

>>"not sure if i'm doing what you are asking, or what I should be looking for."

I am also not sure, because you doesn't show the log, starting from Command: LINE till the last line.

(and I donw't know why we can see your use of Grip-Editing, what I didn't mentiond)

How it looks on my side:

Command: _move
Select objects: Specify opposite corner: 1 found

Select objects:

Specify base point or [Displacement] <Displacement>:
Specify second point or <use first point as displacement>: 90

Command: Specify opposite corner or [Fence/WPolygon/CPolygon]:
Command: _LIST
1 found

LINE Layer: "0"
Space: Model space
Handle = 2b5
from point, X=1862.1226 Y=1727.4545 Z= 0.0000
to point, X=2239.4730 Y=2016.5417 Z= 0.0000
Length = 475.3575, Angle in XY Plane = 37
Delta X = 377.3504, Delta Y = 289.0872, Delta Z = 0.0000

Command:

And another quick check:

draw a line and after this, draw a circle

try to copy the line one time

and run

Command: ZOOM<enter>OBJECT<enter>LAST<enter><enter>

Which object is on Screen, the Circle, or another Line?

select line

command copy

click

move my cursor in direction line needs to be copied

type 60 ( I only said cm to explain i was referring to a distance I work in centimeters) I guess this is "specifying second point"

enter

The line should appear at 60cm distance from original line.

This is how I always draw, I tried your suggestions and no change.

obsolet

start a new / empty file

draw a line

select line

command copy

click

move my cursor in direction line needs to be copied

type 60

enter

enter

Start LIST command and for Object selection type in ALL<enter><enter>

[F2]

No errors, no messages

and datalist of list command showing just one line?

I can't believe it.

All Copies created, you just looked at another place, okay.

You should messure the distance between your line and the copied lines,

use command DIST

Isn't it 60units away?

No, it is not. Very far from where it should be copied, this is why I didn't see them. And they are copying diagonally when I have ortho mode on. It seems to be random.

Share a sample. New DWG with one new line, copy the line to any direction with 60<enter>

qsave

and share

In the new drawing they copy closer, but at random angles.

Your lines aren't very long, only 19 units. So zooming out a bit will show a line copied 60 units away from any one of them

Turn dynamic mode OFF [F12]

Same issue by using ORTHO ?

turn off F10 and F11, turn on F8

Try it again.

No idea..

Crazy.

Your hardware accelerationis on? Turn it off, try it again (or the opposite)

Command: GRAPHICSCONFIG

More than one Monitor? Try the other one.

Sorry, I am out.

No, they are not copying at 60. I draw this way every day and today I haven't been able to.

The Problem is: The line are NOT 60units away if he copying,

they are <60units away.
