8 minutes to open a file with Acad 2008 LT !

Some files (randomly) are really slow to open with my 2008 LT AutoCAD (on both XP and Vista 32 Bits), it takes about 8 minutes to open. AutoCAD try to create a temp file .ac$ on my hard drive.

On any other pc with AutoCAD 2006 or 2004, opening those files works perfectly.

I tried everything (cleaning, saving...) but I really can't work with this delay...

Computers have all the needed updates and I tried all the possible tweaks...

Please, if someone have any ideas. Thanx in advance !

Check how much free space on your hard drive. Delete old temp files.
Where do you save temp autocad files...local or network, make sure it's
local, defrag since a badly fragmented drive will force the file to be
spread over lots of little chunks.

How much memory do you have? Are you running background tasks? Can you
shut some of them down?

>>>...Some files (randomly)...<<<

Do you have Live Enablers Search turned on in Options in 2008?

try SCALELISTEDIT and Reset, it will delete the custom scales and restore the default ones, so use SAVEAS to save it as the other test-file

Thanks for your advices, I tried (and re-tried) all of them but nothing can make those files to work on my 2008 LT.
I guess this is a real bug from Acad 2008 LT (and kind of weird).
