Xref's File shows turned off Layers when rotating?

Here is the issue.  I have loaded an xref into a drawing to use as a guide to create elevations.  Layers have been turned off in the xref to only show what is needed.  We you rotate the xref all of the layer weither one or off (frozen or thawed) all of the layers are shown.   Is there a setting that will keep the layers off from showing?  It becomes difficult when you go to select a specific point on the xref to rotate from and the system sees all of the layers and pick the wrong item.

I cannot reproduce this when testing

If I switch layers off in the Xref then they remain off in the parent drawing if I rotate the Xref.

What version of AutoCAD are you using?

I'm running 2016.

I have attached files that are doing this.  if you open the xplan the x-elev will be the xref.  Just rotate the xref and see what happens.

Hi Roy,

I tested with the files that you sent and the layer that are switched off do display during a rotation of the xref.

If you Freeze the layers in the drawing rather than switching them Off they do not display.

My initial test were done with the layers Frozen which is why I could not reproduce the behavior.

Thanks,

Dan

Thank you,

I made the switch and it works. Just got in to the habit of turning things off.
